Qualifications of Attorneys at Health Care Law Firms in Northern Louisiana

The Louisiana Health Law Legal Specialization Board is a prestigious organization that certifies attorneys who specialize in health law. At The Health Law Firm, we are proud to have a team of experienced lawyers and legal assistants who have decades of experience in the legal and health care fields. Our attorneys have been certified by the Board, hold a master's degree, and are former hospital counselors and licensed health professionals. We understand the importance of health professionals being able to practice their profession, so we focus on helping our clients preserve their careers. Generally, any attorney who is an active member of the bar association of any jurisdiction in the United States and has at least one year of legal experience or other relevant experience is eligible for the position of experienced lawyer. However, some law positions require more experience and additional eligibility criteria.

For example, one of our attorneys obtained summary judgment for a mental health center and its individual members of the board of directors in a lawsuit for breach of employment contract, lawsuit under section 1983, freedom of association, and intentional imposition of emotional distress. He was also a member of the firm's board of directors and president of the American Healthcare Law Association. Our attorneys have also successfully defended a medical hospital organization against allegations that it had conspired to boycott a surgical center and two of its medical investors from the ambulatory surgery market in the Memphis area, in violation of the Sherman Act, as well as from state lawsuits for unfair competition and malicious interference before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. At The Health Law Firm, we strive to earn our clients' long-term trust. We are honored that major healthcare companies have chosen us as their legal and strategic advisors for more than 40 years. Our Department of Health Law is uniquely suited to address the challenges posed by today's healthcare environment. Our attorneys have also represented an independent community hospital in the acquisition of numerous primary care offices and specialized doctors, applying a model professional services agreement (PSA) approach, resulting in provider-based clinical physician status.

They have also addressed substantial changes to the Stark Act and to legal anti-bribery regulations proposed to address regulatory burdens and value-based care arrangements. The Louisiana Supreme Court recently affirmed the constitutionality of the medical negligence compensation limit for the first time in nearly 20 years. Our clients are hiring a dedicated, multidisciplinary team that not only has experience and detailed knowledge of health law but also understands how the industry operates. For example, one of our attorneys represented an ambulance company in a possible exclusion based on the misconduct of an owner of another business and ultimately negotiated the voluntary exclusion of the owner to retain the subsidiary organization's Medicare certification.
